Berlin Peewee I Team Win Two on the roadOn Saturday January 9th the Berlin Peewee I team traveled to Exeter to take on NH East. The locals started the scoring off in this contest early in the first period. Shortly after Berlin answered back with a goal from Taylor Oakes set up by Trevor Labrecque and Nathan Trull. Berlin Trevor Labrecque got Berlin their second goal with the help of Oakes and Justin Vien. NH East tied it up before the period ended making it 2-2. Berlin net minder Matthew Morin had 2 saves.
Second period Vien gave Berlin the lead with a goal assisted by Taylor Oakes and Kyle Frenette. Shortly after Labrecque scored with the help of Oakes and Jensyn Dandeneau. Period ended with Berlin leading 4-2 and Morin stopped all 7 shots from the opposition.
Third period the only goal came form Vien with Oakes and Meagan Accardi earning the assists. Morin blocked all 4 shots in the period and Berlin took the win 5-2.
The next day they traveled to Pop Whalen to play rivals Back Bay. Berlin’s Justin Vien starting the scoring first with a goal set up by Trevor Labrecque and Robert Douglas. Back Bay tied it up right after, and got another to give them the 2-1 lead. Berlin tied it up with a goal from the line of Vien, Labrecque and Oakes. Berlin took advantage of a power play when Nathan Trull scored giving Berlin the lead with Meagan Accardi and Nick Lowe earning the assist. First period ended 3-2 Berlin; Morin had 7 saves in the first period.
Second period Berlin out shot the locals but Back Bay were the only ones who got on the board during the second period of this contest. Period ended tied 3-3 and Morin stayed hot between the pipes with 7 saves.
Third period Back Bay took the lead in the first two minutes of play. Berlin’s Trevor Labrecque answered back tying the game the help of Nathan Trull and Evan Valliere. The rest of the game was a crowd pleaser a lot of back and forth action. With 34 seconds left to play in the game Taylor Oakes scored with a goal set up from Nathan Trull and Trevor Labrecque taking down the rivals 5-4, and Morin stopped another 7 shots in the period.
